We welcome customers and their Assistance Dogs.
Please note that the only dogs we permit in our terminal buildings are Assistance Dogs.
Recognised Assistance Dogs are allowed into the terminal building and may travel on aircraft, providing they comply with the Pets Passport Scheme.
Recognised Assistance Dogs will need to have been trained by an accredited body. A list of qualifying training organisations can be found here:

You must inform your airline or travel agent at least 48 hours prior to travel, so they can make any necessary arrangements. For further advice on flying with your assistance dog, please visit Guide Dogs UK.
Assistance Dog Relief Areas are available in all terminals, both landside and in Departures. Our Special Assistance team will be able to assist on the day.
Please note that the only dogs we permit in our terminal buildings are Recognised Assistance Dogs.
Contact your airline directly at least 48 hours prior to travel
Ensure your dog has the appropriate paperwork for your return journey back to the UK. You can find more information on documentation here: Civil Aviation Authority - Guide Dogs
On getting to the airport, you should attend the Special Assistance Reception Point.
Once you've been registered, our service partner can assist you to Check-In and onwards to Departures as preferred. Our team will ensure you and your Assistance Dog are comfortable and provide any other assistance as necessary.
Dog Relief Areas are available in each terminal. Please contact a Special Assistance team member if your dog needs to use this facility.
Both you and your Assistance Dog must undertake security screening to be compliant with UK standards.
When you arrive at the security lane, please place personal effects into the security screening trays as directed by the Security Officer. The harness can remain on your Assistance Dog at this point.
You will be asked to stand in a body scanner to complete the security check. You Assistance Dog is not permitted to be in the body scanner at the same time. A Security Officer will hold your Assistance Dog temporarily whilst the body scanning step is completed.
After this step, you will be asked to take a seat in the area, remove the dog’s harness and pass it to a Security Officer. This will then be placed in the baggage screening system and returned to you immediately.
A private search room is available at Security in each terminal. You can request to wait in this room with your Assistance Dog whilst the harness is screened if preferred.
Please remember to collect all belongings from the security trays before leaving the area. Special Assistance staff and Security staff in the area will be happy to help with this.
Your airline should have already made our Special Assistance team aware of your arrival in to Manchester Airport, providing them with information including:
Your name
Flight number
Pet Passport or third country veterinary certificate details
Microchip number
Vaccination details
A trained agent will meet your aircraft on arrival. You must remain onboard the aircraft until general disembarkation is complete and our trained team member has carried out all necessary documentation checks.
Once all checks have been concluded satisfactorily, you can continue your journey to Immigration and onwards to Arrivals with or without support from our Special Assistance team.
