A valuable and interesting learning experience is waiting for you.
Work experience is an important opportunity for young people. It enables them to better understand the working environment and make the transition from education into working life by giving them first-hand experience of the workplace and insight into jobs and sectors.
MAG is pleased to support short-term periods of work experience/shadowing within the organisation, where possible, to allow young people to learn about our business, the aviation industry, different job roles, and to gain a better understanding of working life more generally.
MAG is an attractive and interesting employer and extremely popular, with hundreds of applications received every year. To ensure young people receive a quality placement which supports their interests and aspirations, and that the programme can be delivered safely and to a high standard, MAG offers work experience placements only to our partner schools and colleges:
Manchester Enterprise Academy
St Pauls Wythenshawe
Dixon Brooklands Academy Wythenshawe
Manchester College Wythenshawe campus
Trafford College Altrincham campus
Plus, dependants of MAG colleagues
The placement should not exceed five consecutive working days.
The placement should take place in term-time only.
The placement must be organised with the consent of the young person’s school, or for anyone who is home schooled, with their principal educator.
If you meet the criteria and wish to apply, you must complete an application form here.
MAG is just one of 200 employers based at Manchester Airport. Different companies will have their own policies regarding work experience, so if you would like to undertake a placement with an on-site business partner, then you will need to contact the company directly.
Our purpose-built education centre, is designed to showcase the career opportunities available at the airport, to help prepare young people for the world of work, and to build their confidence in key STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) skills. The AeroZone is a free resource for schools and colleges, with all speakers giving up their time voluntarily to tell the story of the airport’s rich history, and to show visitors the exciting range of careers available in aviation
For more information, please direct your teacher to the Aerozone page of our website which includes a booking form: www.manchesterairport.co.uk/education
