Manchester Airport has an active Local Runway Safety Team (LRST) that meets quarterly, combined with the Flight Operations Safety Committee meeting.

The meeting is attended by a variety of stakeholders such as:

Manchester Airport Driver Training
Manchester Airport Rescue & Firefighting Service
Air Traffic Control (NATS)
Airline Safety Representatives.
Regular items on the meeting agenda include:
Manchester Airport runway operations statistics
Manchester Airport runway incursion/ excursion/ safety events statistics
Runway safety statistics and notable events/ incidents from around the world
Additional agenda items may include:
Discussion around changes to regulations affecting runway operations. For example: EAPPRI/ EAPPRE/ GAPPRE.
Manchester Airport safety initiatives and safety promotion.
Notable safety initiatives from other airports that could be employed at Manchester Airport.
Sharing of runway safety information between airlines, aerodrome operator and competent authority (CAA).
